Cops Cycling for Survivors rode through Floyd County yesterday on their tour around Indiana. Cops Cycling for Survivors is a group of active officers and civilian participant riders who raise awareness and actively support law enforcement survivors through their annual bicycle tour. These cyclists bicycle around the state of Indiana raising funds to be utilized to support scholarships, camps and events held in memory of officers killed in the line of duty and other survivor causes.
The tour stopped at the Frank C. Denzinger building where they read statements honoring New Albany Police Officers James Appleby and Otto Welch, Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Mayfield and Floyd County Police Officer Frank Denzinger.
We were honored to have members of the Denzinger Family in attendance. Frank Denzinger is with us always, we are grateful to have remained close with Frank’s remaining family members.
Thank you to the Cops Cycling for Survivors team, the Floyd County Officers and New Albany Officers that assisted with escorting the team. Most importantly thank you to our wonderful community that continues to support the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.
