Meet Dezarae “Dez” Crowe-Byrne, the invaluable Floyd County Jail Administrative Assistant and Event Coordinator who has been a beacon of support and kindness since joining the team on July 2, 2012.
Dez manages a myriad of administrative tasks while also taking charge as the Event Coordinator. Her role extends beyond administrative duties, as she plays a pivotal role in organizing and executing events, ensuring everything runs smoothly for both colleagues and attendees.
Dez’s journey into law enforcement wasn’t a predetermined path but rather a fortuitous opportunity presented by fate. Unsure of her career direction, she found herself back in county government, working at the Floyd County Auditor’s office. It was during this time that the former sheriff approached her with an offer to join FCSD. Intrigued by the prospect of aiding others, Dez seized the opportunity, unaware of the profound impact it would have on her life.
When asked to describe herself, Dez’s humility shines through. While she may shy away from self-praise, those who know her best would attest to her unwavering compassion, generosity, and selflessness.
For Dez, the most fulfilling aspect of her role is the ability to make a positive difference in people’s lives, especially during their most challenging times. Her interests also extend to true crime shows/documentaries and the original CSI series, reflecting her fascination with the intricacies of law enforcement.
