Your responsibilities will include supervising inmates, enforcing facility rules, ensuring the welfare of inmates, and assisting in rehabilitation efforts.

Qualifications:
To be considered for the position of Corrections Officer at the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor convictions.
- Be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Floyd County, Indiana, or willing to relocate.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical Fitness Test (COPAT) See Sheriff Steve Bush complete the COPAT and see the physical requirements required here.
- Must Completed Peer Interview
- Must Complete Administrative Interview
